small bites about singapore #3

This was quite a while back but it's some of these things that made me intrigued with the arts and well, food at the same time. A friend of mine brought me to this place called, 'Red Dot Museum'.

Apparently, one friday night a month, they have an event going on 'MAAD' which is a free-entry event for the public whereby local designers showcase their artworks from little cupcakes to bags and recycled trash into beautifully weaved items. This trip was quite an experience for me because it really did inspire me to make use of those little things which other people will throw out but of which I'd usually keep but don't know what to do with it. [Most of the time, I'd use it to make my 'homemade' gift cards and notebooks which I'll write about it in another post sometime soon, hopefully.]

During the event, they even had local band playing, which I'd recommend to you all BUT I wasn't sure what band it was. :X THEREFORE, if you're around Maxwell Road, from Tanjong Pagar MRT, do drop by the museum to find out more. Worth a trip! Just a tip, look up on days that they are open and the time! or even any upcoming events, given in the link below this post.

singlish, anyone?

kueh chap. Yeap, it is really different from the kueh chap I have back home where the meat is put together with the noodle in a bowl

..they have great tasting french fries around (near my place, that is)

..nice bag, aint it?see the one in the middle from the bottom? The first time I saw it, I thought it was just a decoration. Turns out, it is a REAL bag.

For all design enthusiasist, check this out Red Dot Museum Asia !!

not stress, just anxious

I guess it's been a while since I actually have the momentum of studying day by day to prepare for exams which includes the joy of waking up early and sleeping late.(no kidding.) As what I've learnt back when I studied psychology, my CIRCADIAN RHYTHM is totally off.

It was super embarassing when i walked out of my room without realising I was not wearing both my slippers. :X my roommie laughed at me.
As a reminder to myself, "SLEEP EARLY! WAKE UP EARLY. save yourself some embarassing moments that could happen."
BUT, I can honestly say that college days trained me good.. in terms of finishing up assignments on time and preparing for exams within such short period. I really do miss college days.

"start by struggling, then in time, you'll find it easier..."

FUN FACT: Did you know? Midnight is the most crucial hour for your body to sleep because it fully repairs itself during that time.

bad hair days

So here's the story. . .,
One of the days before class, i decided to wake up early but my hair was in super mess. I was a sad child. Then, suddenly, *DING* i got an idea! And as you can see in the picture above, I ended up styling my hair with half bun and ponytail. I thought it's look weird but it turned out okay. (i think)
le plaits!

...and one of the days, i tried to plait my own hair and for the first time ever, i did it!! not too shabbyy ;)
All these while, I've been wondering how do people plait their hair from top to bottom without looking at it and now i know!

The end.

Quite an achievement for me, i must say. teehee

My Uni classmate. One gorgeous blogger.

I meant to write this post and put it up with a photo with a friend of mine to promote her blog BUT this particular post was important to be put up the soonest possible!

:D   here goes....

As much as I am grateful for each and everyday, everyone has their ups and downs.
mine,
it's the usual.

My Uni days. lectures. assignments. feedback forms. results.

i'm not complaining. Just sharing.
to be bold, I was pretty down the last couple of days.

Somehow, someone out there... may be someone you've known for a long time. Someone you've just met. Or probably even someone you don't know. Either way, I now know that indeed, there'll always be people with a good heart.

As for me, a good friend of mine was so observant of how sad I was when my lecturer gave us our feedback form for our assignments. See, I've always had the problem of having high expectations on myself that I'd beat myself up(not literally) whenever things don't go the way it should. Back home, JO was always the one who'd be ready to listen and she'd know what to say. I miss my babe!
Anyway, I didn't even think anyone would notice but she did. When I came back from a short break during lecture, I found this on my table...

It was something that I would never have expected. Yvonne! gave me a kitkat and most importantly, a letter of assurance. It was what I needed. Someone to tell me, "It's okay to fall once in a while and girl, GET YOURSELF BACK UP!"

This girl has..by far..a girl i know who have the sweetest and innocent looking smile ever! She's a girl whom i can truly say that she live by these words, 'sharing is caring'. Nearly most of the lecture, she'd have some snacks to share with us group of girls in class, never failing to ask EACH of us, "you want? Just take. Don't need to ask."

One thing that makes Yvonne truly unique is that she treasures everyone, literally.
 [ It's a good thing. :) ]

THANK YOU, Yvonn!  :')

MUMs everywhere especially my mum

Happy Mother's Day!

my mummy,
you'll always mean so much to me. Even when I am at my worst and try to hide my bad days, whatever I do, i now know it'll never work because you'll always know whenever i'm feeling down. For that and for many many things that you've done all these years for me, my 'Thank You' will never be enough...

YOU inspire me to be the girl that I am today!

"...there's something behind that smile of yours!"

I LOVE YOU,mummy!

much love, cella

cloudy days

"back when i was a child,
before life removed all the innocence,
my father would lift me high,
and dance with my mother and me.."

- short lyrics from "Dance with my father, again" by Luther Vandross.

Such a beautiful song, a meaningful song and one that made me appreciate my own Dad even more.

I can't help but think of the many times when I tend to take things for granted - for many things, for granted, in fact.
These days, it's hard to stop from all the busy days but I'm trying to at least, note down every little thing that there is around me.

i miss home.

much love~

stalker detector,anyone?

I have always wondered what if...
IF... social networking sites have some sort of 'app' like thingy that let's you know whenever someone is viewing your profile, like immediately. :) wouldn't that be COOL??!

ABSOLUTELY NO!!!

Well, at least, that's my opinion. I don't want to know. Of course, you may prefer otherwise. There are pros and cons to it. I'll start with the cons.

SOOOOO... if there really is such 'app' as per say,
  •  social networking sites won't ever be the same again.
  • it can get pretty annoying if you know who's who keeps viewing your page
  • simple way to start a new gossip around
(e.g JUST EXAMPLE : Person A accidentally clicked on Person B's page because probably, he got a new ipad and don't know how to use it. Person B gets a notification that Person A is viewing his/her page. Same thing happened the day after and after and after. Person B had a wrong impression and well, told his/her fellow friends... then you know how it goes...)

The list goes on... [of course, feel free to let me know if you want to add-in to the list. I'll include your name with it to show my appreciation towards YOUR IDEA. ;) ]

As for the pros,

  • You, as a fellow social network user can keep update on who is viewing your page.
  • less online stalkers?
  • perhaps, it could lessen your habit of viewing other people's page. Therefore, NOT wasting so much time on the net.
  • Maybe, you, as a fellow blogger can use this 'app' to increase your page visitors and know when you need to really keep up when there is less viewers.
again, the list goes on and on and on....

"BUT there was such an 'app' before, which was in a famous social networking site then, 'Friendster'." , you might say.. YES, I am aware of that but the one in Friendster does not give you immediate notifications and I'm talking about having that 'app' in general not only in social networking sites.

JUST MY THOUGHT~
