wonders

What the hype is really about?

K-pop.

I see it now.

Recently, I've been so hooked on the series, 'Full House Take 2'.

SUCH A GOOD SHOW~!

Well, to be honest, I've never been a fan of korean artists, movies and such.

It was just too mainstream.

Anyway, after watching the show, I am in loveee! <3 p="p">
with no min woo, with hwang jung eun! with.. :)

Adding on with an un-related info to this post, it's finally end of my 3rd sem! I guess i shall spend this holiday of mine with a bunch of doing the activities on my to-do list before everything starts all over again. [I won't only be spending my holiday watching korean drama all,of course] teehee~

of which, I'm thinking of moving my blogsite as well.

Til then ~!

phoneblogging!

I've been away too long. Too long that I can't even remember clearly when did I stop. But anyway, I've downloaded this blogger app on mobile and this is my first time using it! Okay, I'm just hoping that it'll turn out good! It really is a wonder of how technology has advanced so much in so many ways! I'll continue with updating soon. Soon.

Truth be told

BUSY. What does it really mean?

As for me, it means to keep my mind off missing home and ultimately, to train myself to multitask and sort my time in a kind of 'systematic' way. Though, it's not exactly systematic. I just do what needs to be done first. I wouldn't say I've accomplished doing things on time. Still working on it but improving day by day.
I don't miss home as much now.
Some people have asked me before of the reason why I would make myself super busy and join a lot of CCA's and rather not rest at home and wake up late. I've been there and it just wasn't working for me because my days just seems wasted, y'know?
Being busy with uni and other activities actually made me realise that I've done so much compared to when I just started - really. Of course, it gets better despite the busyness. I could actually see myself in the future,*starts dreaming* in that business woman suit, all prepped up for meetings after meetings, meeting big corporate leaders and doing many other things on the side too! [this does not include doing housewife's job, though] I can literally list it out for you if you'd ask me to. =)

YEAH!  Remember how it feels when you play this game and WON? That's exactly how it feels when you've reached your goals, at the end of the day only so much more REWARDING. Mine's in the process~  It's sort of like being on stage and after you're done performing, there's the sound of great applause from the audience!! oh-so-satisfying!

All the best with yours!

hey you, how's it going??

...and I'm BACK for action!

So, my classes started about nearly two weeks ago. How has it been? Zzzz... BUT interesting at the same time!  This semester should be exciting, though..or at least, I'm excited to go through it. It would also be the most busiest semester for me so far as I have to juggle my time between studies, drama practices, sports and social which includes shopping.

This girl needs to go out, hang around and well, loosen up and forget everything once in a while. To state the obvious, we're human that way. teehee~

Speaking of which, we should..or rather, must try something new once in a while too!

SOo... I... DYED my hair!

                                                         . . . to RED!

JUST KIDDING!!! [though, red is a nice colour but nahh, not on me.]

MY Theory: Fair skin people = RED = WOW
Dark skin people = RED = Oooo (I mean, look at Rihanna's red hair.. awesome,no?)
Me  = RED = oh no no no no no no no no

The colour on my hair now is actually SUPPOSE to be mahogany brown but somehow, it..YEAH..
You can never be satisfied with the exact thing you want, y'know? Ahh wells, I'm getting used to it. The first thought I had after I had my hair done was that, "OH SHIZZ MAN! Who's that weird funny looking girl right there??!! such terrriblehh!" Believe me, I nearly shed tears! Then again, I always am afraid of going to the salon and to see the end result even if it's just for a haircut. Anyway, turns out, I just wasn't used to looking at myself with a different hair colour since I had very black hair before this.

Is it me or do you ever feel like your whole personality changes(not exactly WHOLE but somehow you just feel different) after you do something to your hair or just wear something out of your ordinary?

Up for a JAPANESE buffet, anyone? call me! :)

we all LOVE SALMON! FRESH!

this was complimentary. It was some kind of clam soup, if i'm not mistaken.

BEHOLD! this beautiful creation is called SUSHI! and ME LIKEY IT! This one, in particular had cream cheese in it!
 *salivating*

A friend of mine brought the five of us out for a Japanese buffet dinner! It was somewhere around Clarke Quay but I forgot the exact place. To be frank, it was my first time having such a big jap buffet meal!
It was funny how we were all too excited and for some of us, extremely hungry after starving themselves just for this dinner that we kind of over 'tick' on the order sheet. The food just came, one after another.. nearly non-stop even after we were all disgustingly full! Nevertheless, it was GOoOOD!!
After the dinner, we could hardly get our bottom off our seats and even to walk! It was indeed a great night, in fact. The very highlight of my food experience here so far. Seriously, their tepanyaki was super good too!

STILL WAITING FOR MUCH MORE TO COME! sooo, any recommendations???

home at last

"ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain. We have arrived Kuching International Airport. Thank you for flying with us and we hope to see you all again."

*looks outside the plane window*
Finally.... though it has only been 3 months so far that I've been away from home since I started uni, I've missed being home so badly. To be honest, it's the comfort that I really miss but somehow everytime I get back, I get so busy, going out and all that I have so little time to enjoy the comfort as much. However, this holiday, I make it a point that I do something new - something different.

I baked!

I hiked!

One of the things that I love about my little hometown..

You get a beautiful scenery especially when during a long-distance drive. Early morning is best because then, you get to see the sunrise amidst the misty, cool air. And of course, there's also view of the mountain. I've always thought that just by looking at the mountain is breathtaking enough but climbing up a mountain and actually being up the summit is even better. Yes, it's a lot of hardwork to climb all the way up there which can take about an hour plus or more depending which mountain but worth it, in the end.

I AM PROUD TO SAY I CLIMBED UP WITHIN 45 MINUTES!best personal record!
hee

I have roughly 3 days left here. And, I still have so much to do on my list.

Men in Black. Have you watched it?

Right after exams, my friends and I went to watch MIB!! whoots whoots!! It was my first time being at Jcube AND to the movie theatre. [I'm a happy kid!]

It's finally my sem break now but how I wish classes would start already. On the contrary, when classes are on, I'd wish it's a holiday. HUMANS. We all wish for things that we don't have. ;)

Anyway, MIB was fantabulouso!! Super hilarious. Now, for those who have not watch it, don't worry i'm not going to spoil it for you. hee.. I'm stuck with pitbull's song 'Back in Time'.
If there's one thing I learned from the movie, it would be that "...in times when you can't solve something, have a pie.."-Agent K

Lovin' Will smith. He's such a good and versatile actor. IF someday I could meet him in person, I would so totally ask him to go out for a drink or something. BIG DREAM, i know. hehe.

take risks. have confidence.

Take chances where there are opportunity and chances are that one or two people will take notice.

~  ~  ~

They say, "move forward and never look back."

But, some days . . .you really need to look back - look at what you've accomplished, friends you have made, lessons you have learned, times when you fell and got up stronger, places you have been and think to yourself, just how far and perhaps, how good you have survived your everyday.

... then maybe you could be even more grateful for everything and go through a better future ahead, ya know?

small bites about singapore #3

This was quite a while back but it's some of these things that made me intrigued with the arts and well, food at the same time. A friend of mine brought me to this place called, 'Red Dot Museum'.

Apparently, one friday night a month, they have an event going on 'MAAD' which is a free-entry event for the public whereby local designers showcase their artworks from little cupcakes to bags and recycled trash into beautifully weaved items. This trip was quite an experience for me because it really did inspire me to make use of those little things which other people will throw out but of which I'd usually keep but don't know what to do with it. [Most of the time, I'd use it to make my 'homemade' gift cards and notebooks which I'll write about it in another post sometime soon, hopefully.]

During the event, they even had local band playing, which I'd recommend to you all BUT I wasn't sure what band it was. :X THEREFORE, if you're around Maxwell Road, from Tanjong Pagar MRT, do drop by the museum to find out more. Worth a trip! Just a tip, look up on days that they are open and the time! or even any upcoming events, given in the link below this post.

singlish, anyone?

kueh chap. Yeap, it is really different from the kueh chap I have back home where the meat is put together with the noodle in a bowl

..they have great tasting french fries around (near my place, that is)

..nice bag, aint it?see the one in the middle from the bottom? The first time I saw it, I thought it was just a decoration. Turns out, it is a REAL bag.

For all design enthusiasist, check this out Red Dot Museum Asia !!

not stress, just anxious

I guess it's been a while since I actually have the momentum of studying day by day to prepare for exams which includes the joy of waking up early and sleeping late.(no kidding.) As what I've learnt back when I studied psychology, my CIRCADIAN RHYTHM is totally off.

It was super embarassing when i walked out of my room without realising I was not wearing both my slippers. :X my roommie laughed at me.
As a reminder to myself, "SLEEP EARLY! WAKE UP EARLY. save yourself some embarassing moments that could happen."
BUT, I can honestly say that college days trained me good.. in terms of finishing up assignments on time and preparing for exams within such short period. I really do miss college days.

"start by struggling, then in time, you'll find it easier..."

FUN FACT: Did you know? Midnight is the most crucial hour for your body to sleep because it fully repairs itself during that time.

bad hair days

So here's the story. . .,
One of the days before class, i decided to wake up early but my hair was in super mess. I was a sad child. Then, suddenly, *DING* i got an idea! And as you can see in the picture above, I ended up styling my hair with half bun and ponytail. I thought it's look weird but it turned out okay. (i think)
le plaits!

...and one of the days, i tried to plait my own hair and for the first time ever, i did it!! not too shabbyy ;)
All these while, I've been wondering how do people plait their hair from top to bottom without looking at it and now i know!

The end.

Quite an achievement for me, i must say. teehee

My Uni classmate. One gorgeous blogger.

I meant to write this post and put it up with a photo with a friend of mine to promote her blog BUT this particular post was important to be put up the soonest possible!

:D   here goes....

As much as I am grateful for each and everyday, everyone has their ups and downs.
mine,
it's the usual.

My Uni days. lectures. assignments. feedback forms. results.

i'm not complaining. Just sharing.
to be bold, I was pretty down the last couple of days.

Somehow, someone out there... may be someone you've known for a long time. Someone you've just met. Or probably even someone you don't know. Either way, I now know that indeed, there'll always be people with a good heart.

As for me, a good friend of mine was so observant of how sad I was when my lecturer gave us our feedback form for our assignments. See, I've always had the problem of having high expectations on myself that I'd beat myself up(not literally) whenever things don't go the way it should. Back home, JO was always the one who'd be ready to listen and she'd know what to say. I miss my babe!
Anyway, I didn't even think anyone would notice but she did. When I came back from a short break during lecture, I found this on my table...

It was something that I would never have expected. Yvonne! gave me a kitkat and most importantly, a letter of assurance. It was what I needed. Someone to tell me, "It's okay to fall once in a while and girl, GET YOURSELF BACK UP!"

This girl has..by far..a girl i know who have the sweetest and innocent looking smile ever! She's a girl whom i can truly say that she live by these words, 'sharing is caring'. Nearly most of the lecture, she'd have some snacks to share with us group of girls in class, never failing to ask EACH of us, "you want? Just take. Don't need to ask."

One thing that makes Yvonne truly unique is that she treasures everyone, literally.
 [ It's a good thing. :) ]

THANK YOU, Yvonn!  :')

MUMs everywhere especially my mum

Happy Mother's Day!

my mummy,
you'll always mean so much to me. Even when I am at my worst and try to hide my bad days, whatever I do, i now know it'll never work because you'll always know whenever i'm feeling down. For that and for many many things that you've done all these years for me, my 'Thank You' will never be enough...

YOU inspire me to be the girl that I am today!

"...there's something behind that smile of yours!"

I LOVE YOU,mummy!

much love, cella

cloudy days

"back when i was a child,
before life removed all the innocence,
my father would lift me high,
and dance with my mother and me.."

- short lyrics from "Dance with my father, again" by Luther Vandross.

Such a beautiful song, a meaningful song and one that made me appreciate my own Dad even more.

I can't help but think of the many times when I tend to take things for granted - for many things, for granted, in fact.
These days, it's hard to stop from all the busy days but I'm trying to at least, note down every little thing that there is around me.

i miss home.

much love~

stalker detector,anyone?

I have always wondered what if...
IF... social networking sites have some sort of 'app' like thingy that let's you know whenever someone is viewing your profile, like immediately. :) wouldn't that be COOL??!

ABSOLUTELY NO!!!

Well, at least, that's my opinion. I don't want to know. Of course, you may prefer otherwise. There are pros and cons to it. I'll start with the cons.

SOOOOO... if there really is such 'app' as per say,
  •  social networking sites won't ever be the same again.
  • it can get pretty annoying if you know who's who keeps viewing your page
  • simple way to start a new gossip around
(e.g JUST EXAMPLE : Person A accidentally clicked on Person B's page because probably, he got a new ipad and don't know how to use it. Person B gets a notification that Person A is viewing his/her page. Same thing happened the day after and after and after. Person B had a wrong impression and well, told his/her fellow friends... then you know how it goes...)

The list goes on... [of course, feel free to let me know if you want to add-in to the list. I'll include your name with it to show my appreciation towards YOUR IDEA. ;) ]

As for the pros,

  • You, as a fellow social network user can keep update on who is viewing your page.
  • less online stalkers?
  • perhaps, it could lessen your habit of viewing other people's page. Therefore, NOT wasting so much time on the net.
  • Maybe, you, as a fellow blogger can use this 'app' to increase your page visitors and know when you need to really keep up when there is less viewers.
again, the list goes on and on and on....

"BUT there was such an 'app' before, which was in a famous social networking site then, 'Friendster'." , you might say.. YES, I am aware of that but the one in Friendster does not give you immediate notifications and I'm talking about having that 'app' in general not only in social networking sites.

JUST MY THOUGHT~

Simple choices in life

Friend : "HEY! This friday is a holiday. You wanna go out?"
Me      : "yeap, sure.. since I don't have a plan planned yet."
Friend : "Great! I knew you'd want to go so I had it all planned out.okay.. so here's my plan...."

What I didn't know or rather, What I forgot was that I actually already had a plan - a plan with Him.
That friday..was in fact, the most important day. Deep down, I was disappointed with myself that I had forget what I was suppose to do. As soon as I realized after answering my friend, I had to do something. Hence, my dilemma on the day itself was that :

#1 : I could not possibly let down my friend. (yes, i could actually but thing is, he had it all planned out along with other people and I,too had invite my other friend to go so I could not just leave her)
#2 : I was eager to go - to see HIM

Probably you may not see it in 'my point of view' but for me, it was hard - a hard choice to make indeed.
Bottom line, I am not the type who does last minute cancellations and disappoint others.

How i solved it:
I brought all of them to church to meet HIM, to witness HIM for Good Friday mass! :)

What I learned?
Just tell the truth. Share your dilemma with them. That way, they know you're open with them. If they truly are friends, they'll understand and still accept you for who you are. Worse that can happen, Unfriend. Simple, no?

For anyone out there who ever encounter this before, especially those who are away from home, in this type of situation, it's easy to stray away. Trust me, it's easy to just follow others and not stand up for what you believe. Don't let anyone or anything put you down. Stay strong and like how I did, perhaps you could bring them to see what you believe.

social networking

"Go download Oovoo..!"

what's this you say?? Oovoo?
Personally, I have not heard of this until a friend of mine asked me to go download it. So i did but it didn't last. And now, another friend of mine is asking me to download it yet again. Apparently, it works nearly like skype.. only better? I'm not really sure about this since I don't even know how to use it. Perhaps, you all can go check it out : Oovoo  :)

small bites about singapore #2

These past few days, I've been scratching my head on what to do before my classes officially starts. So, I decided that I'd go explore around just to get familiar with names and places. Luckily, a fellow good singaporean was kind enough to even offer to bring me around for the day!

LET'S GO!

First stop, the place with a lot of buildings..somewhere near esplanade. Pardon me for I have forgotten which place is which =D

Marina Bay Sands

It was a very long walk, mind you. After a while, I could actually feel the heat of the skin going through my skin. That's how hot it is. Although, I can't quite compare the weather here to my hometown. Which is hotter? I can't really say, honestly. Seems quite the same.heee

boat ride in a shopping mall??

This was in one of the shopping malls near marina bay. I'm not exactly sure which one but my friend brought me to this so-called Pacific's largest Prada flagship. I actually went in just to see the structure and design of the building. IT WAS SPECTACULAR! The building is covered by glass, of which appears to be floating on top of the calm waters of marina bay.

Then, there's the largest laser and water show in South-East Asia. It's located at one of the merlion, of which my friend told me that it's called the 'mama merlion'.

Second stop, Botanic Garden!

Have you ever felt like jumping on a train, not knowing where to go and just randomly stop at a place, thinking "I wonder where this leads me to..?" ? Well, I did just that the next day. Fortunately for me, I landed at a place where I could rest my mind and breathe in the smell of nature! It was definitely a hot hot day but a beautiful one indeed.

Yeap, see that tourist in the picture above, lying on the bench? He copycat-ed me.

Also, at the Botanic Garden, it is usually famous for picnic spots and a place where people can actually lie on the grass to read book or just simply rest their mind...

Quick one

So, orientation just ended today.

What i learn? HOW TO PLAY CAPTAIN BALL!

It was super fun! Basically, just like soccer except with hands and we had to not hold the ball while running.

...to be continued~

Thank you!

This post, first of all is dedicated to my THREE wonderful amigos.

Friends. What am I without them... without you?

I'm sure you've heard before that it's not about those who knew you first but those who stayed ...or something like that. (correct me if i got it wrong. )
Well, I will forever be grateful to you three for everything - Jo, Tom & Jerry Tim and Jeremy.
What I'm about to say, I just know I would not be able to say it properly in person because I just know it'll sound very cliche.

I know we've known each other for only three years plus? Some may say it's short but to me, it really is a long time. Why? Because you guys have made so much impact on me. The past few years before, I've never had this much love in friendship. Somewhat ,the kind of love that makes you cry when you laugh. Quite frankly, I never thought you guys would actually spend a WHOLE day with me that day. (probably you didn't have a choice..hehe) BUT you guys did anyway. MUCHOS GRACIAS!

Quite frankly, we all have soo different personalities.

For example, Tim has always been the class clown. He just knows how to crack a joke or two and make people laugh even if its not the right time to. YOU JUST HAVE TO LAUGH. (at least for me, that is) This dude knows how to sing too..! MAaMA..mia!
Then, there's Jeremy. The shopaholic and best known for his 'fair skin' and his dream for wanting to promote his own skin product next time. Trust me, he knows all the branded goods that some I've never heard of and it puts me, being a girl down! Of course, there's JO! Whenever I need a listening ear, she's there. Whenever I laugh at a joke when no one else is laughing, she witnessed it all. Whenever I ask for her opinion, she tells me literally HER opinion even if it hurts. YES, truth hurts. Whenever I think my life is all messed up, she's there to put some sense into my head. For that and for so many other things that I could never be able to list down, I thank you all!!!

Lastly, Happy very(x 10) belated 19th birthday, Jo!

Common advice : "kids, don't talk to strangers."??

So I went kai kai (exploring around) today around Bukit Timah, Clementi and Jurong just to be familiar with all these nearby places while my other mates went uni. And... I bought myself this !

apparently it's got mrt/lrt system map in it too.. so I thought, it'd be a good guide for me  =D

As I was waiting for the bus today, I knew where I wanted to go but at the same time, I don't know where to go. Then came this lady and her son to the bus stop. I think I looked 'worried' or some sort when the lady suddenly asked me where am I going to. Hence, I told her about the first place that popped in my mind. Luckily she was kind enough to tell me which bus number to take. Out of curiosity, I kepo-ed and asked her if she's local but she said no - she's Japanese!

Anyway,as I was going up the bus, again I somehow doubt myself of where I was heading to so I asked this lady sitting next to me.  She told me whereabouts of the place and even offered me sweets! ( yes, i know.. I should not be talking to strangers or even take candies from them. BUT it was a great need that I ask someone for directions.) Hence, my point of telling this whole story is that you can talk to anyone but make sure it's the right people. Don't know whether they're the right people?

I hate to say this but to know how, look at the way they dress, who they're with, their attitude in general and trust your instincts. This may not be so much of a good advice but I live by it almost everyday.
NOTE : follow at your own risk

Believe

Its been two days being a lone ranger in the merlion island....

This cartoon that i drew was inspired by this story which later made into a movie (i forgot what is it called) whereby the guy had a friend on the island with him named, Wilson =D

Have you or anyone out there ever felt like that? or rather, the feeling of alone in a crowded room. Perhaps, most people do. Hence, I now tell you, you're NEVER alone. At some point, you'll realize that loneliness is something you have to deal with. However, loneliness is only momentarily. In fact, truth be told, you're really NEVER ALONE... (yes, you read that right.) What you're about to read is merely subjective and is according to me. And here it goes...

At age (coming to) 19, I know I still believe in fairy tales, angels and happy endings.

I believe everyone has a guardian angel.

You don't see, you don't touch, doesn't mean your guardian angel isn't there.

This, below here, is your guardian angel saying that . . .

even if things seem a little crazy where you are right now, from up here, you look pretty good... That tangled mess that's got you worried-it's just a dark cloud... and there's a rainbow on the other side.

HAPPILY EVER AFTER shouldn't just be your childhood fairy tale ending...

small bites about singapore #1

Singapore river which serves as a reservoir too.
the famous bungee jump.. anyone?

walking through the tunnel! fascinating! ;)
One thing I learned while walking through this place was that  'pleasure that you enjoy have its price to pay'. How?  For example,  you walk into a restaurant..From the outside, infront, everything looks perfect but there will always be people behind the scenes to make the service perfect and what not.
That bird over there was done by a famous artist, Fernando Botero

pretty bridge

now that's interesting
as the picture says..
What is all those photos above? WELL, it's my 2nd day in Singapore! [I shall not mention about what happen on the first day.]
Anyway, I attended this cross-cultural introduction which my uni had for the international students as part of their interaction programme. Thus, this event is aimed for all the international students to get to know Singapore better. I must say that I am very impressed with the country itself (definitely not to compare it to where I'm from) BUT from the start to the end, I was really fascinated by the system they implemented and the lifestyle there. We were told that we had to go for a so-called 'Resilience Trail'. What is resilience? Well, basically we all had to walk few kilometres without stops although, we did stop for ice-cream. :D

MORE PICHAS..

....

Lookie here, a building with colorful windows!
Ministry of Informations, Communications and Arts (MICA)

There is a story told behind the reason this white building was built about a father and his son

Some part of the Fort left after so many years has passed which was built by the British who invaded Singapore back then

The stairs right there used to be a 'secret' passage way for the British soldiers

Field inside the Fort whereby concerts are usually held now which used to be one of Singapore's earliest cemetery.

Building in memory of Whampoa(Hoo Ah Kay) who used to import ice into Singapore from overseas. However, his business failed not long after due to the high pricing for iced drinks back then.

to be continued . . . .

TaT-a
